Prince of Wales Grey Suit

Prince of Wales Grey Suit

Ref:CODR70043AH23

6-button double-breasted Glencheck Grey wool flannel suit from Drapers. Traditional fit, shoulders with structured epaulets, side pockets with flaps, 2 back slits and full inner lining. Pants with buckle and strap, 2 inside pleats, 4cm turn-up at bottom of leg.

A Scottish gamekeeper's jacket inspired one of the most refined and popular patterns in menswear - the Prince of Wales, or Glen Plaid.

Like the Gun Club pattern, the Glen Plaid is what's known as a district check or estate check: it was originally created to identify the gamekeepers of the county of Seafield in Scotland.
The Prince of Wales, later to become Edward VIII, adopted the fabric for his suits after seeing the checks on a hunt in Seafield. The pattern became known as "Prince of Wales".

In flannel, double-breasted, it's one of our favorite suits this season, a blend of classicism and boldness that evokes immediate emotion.
